COFFEE DAYS Terms of Use

These terms set out the conditions for using COFFEE DAYS (the “App”), an iPhone app provided by us. By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these terms.

Article 1. About the App

The App is for logging the coffee you drink and learning about coffee. It can be used without creating an account.

Article 2. Coffee information

Articles, quizzes, origin descriptions, the Coffee Profile quiz, and suggested origins are provided as general guides. Actual flavor and aroma vary with the beans, the roast, how the coffee is brewed, how you are feeling, and other factors. The information in the App does not recommend any particular product or shop, and it is not health or medical advice.

Article 3. Paid plan (COFFEE DAYS Premium)

1. COFFEE DAYS Premium (“Premium”) is an auto-renewable subscription. There are two plans: monthly and yearly. Prices are shown on the App Store screen at the time of purchase.
2. With Premium, ads are no longer shown; you can add brew method, roaster, process, variety, and 15 flavor tags to your entries; you can collect process, variety, and brewing collections in your Passport; you can turn monthly reports into images; and in Coffee Time you can use forest, campfire, and wave sounds in addition to rain. All articles are free to read regardless of plan.
3. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. If you start a free trial, the first payment is charged when the free trial ends.
4. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
5. Both the monthly plan and the yearly plan include a 7-day free trial. During the free trial, you can use all Premium features. Eligibility for the free trial is determined by Apple. The free trial is available once per Apple ID across the monthly and yearly plans, and reinstalling the App does not give you another one.
6. When the free trial ends, it automatically becomes a paid subscription, and the price of the plan you chose is charged to your Apple ID account. After that, it renews automatically as described in item 4. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends.
7. Without a subscription, you can still log cups, read your entries and photos, read articles, take quizzes, read the material on origins, drinks, and gear, export your entries, and restore purchases, all for free. Detailed logging, Coffee Time sounds, monthly reports, and Passport collections are available with Premium (including during the free trial). When the free trial ends or you cancel, your entries and photos remain on your device and are not deleted.
8. You can cancel and check your next renewal date in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions. If you are using Premium, you can also open the same screen from “Manage Subscription” in the App’s Settings.
9. Payments and refunds are subject to Apple’s terms. Please request refunds from Apple. We cannot process refunds.
10. After changing devices or reinstalling, you can restore Premium with “Restore Purchases” in the App. You must be signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the purchase.

Article 4. After canceling

Your entries saved on your device remain after you cancel. Items that can only be entered with Premium (brew method, roaster, flavor tags) are still shown in entry details after you cancel. Premium is required to enter these items in new entries.

Article 5. Data management

1. Your entries and photos are stored only on your iPhone. We do not hold your data and cannot recover it.
2. There is no iCloud sync. To prepare for a device change or the unexpected, please export your data in JSON format from Settings and keep it safe.
3. We are not liable for data lost due to device failure, loss, deletion of the App, or similar events.

Article 6. Prohibited acts

When using the App, the following acts are prohibited:

1. Copying, reposting, or distributing the App’s articles, quizzes, images, or other content without permission
2. Reusing the App for commercial purposes
3. Modifying or analyzing (reverse engineering) the App
4. Interfering with the operation of the App or its ads, or using paid features by improper means
5. Acts that violate laws and regulations or public order and morals

Article 7. Advertising

While you are not using Premium, ads are shown at the bottom of the Learn, Explore, and Journal screens. The content of ads is determined by the ad providers, and we do not guarantee it. Any dealings at a destination reached through an ad are between you and that other party.

Article 8. Disclaimer

1. We strive to keep the App’s content accurate, but we do not guarantee its completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
2. We are not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App, except in cases of our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
3. We may change the App’s content or discontinue the App without notice.

Article 9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as necessary. The revised terms take effect when they are posted on this page.

Article 10. Governing law

These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan.
