1. Information we do not collect
The App does not create accounts. The App does not send your name, email address, phone number, or similar information to us.
2. Your entries and photos
Your coffee entries (photos, origin, roast level, rating, notes, taste notes, price, and so on), your Coffee Profile quiz results, your taste values, XP and level, your chosen buddy, and your settings are stored only on your iPhone. They are not sent to our servers, so we cannot see their contents.
The App does not sync via iCloud. You can export your entries in JSON format from Settings (photos included). Please choose where to keep the exported file yourself. The numbers shown on the Home Screen widget (streak and today’s title) are kept in an on-device area (App Group) that only the App and its widget can read.
To help improve the App, the App counts, on your device only, things like how many times each screen has been opened. It counts only numbers and dates and times; it does not include the contents of your coffee entries, photos, or notes. These numbers are not sent to our servers either.
You can delete all of the App’s data from Settings. Deleting the App also deletes the data stored on your device.
Notifications
The App asks for permission to send notifications only if you choose the morning reminder. Notifications are used only to tell you the title of the day’s experience, and they are scheduled and delivered on your iPhone. They are not sent from our servers. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.
3. Photos and camera
The App asks for access to the camera or photo library only when you add a photo to an entry. This access is used only to attach the photo you choose or take to your entry. Photos are stored on your device and are not sent anywhere.
Even if you do not allow access, you can still make entries without photos (photos are optional). You can change this permission at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
4. Advertising (provision to third parties)
The App shows ads provided by Google (Google AdMob) at the bottom of the Learn, Explore, and Journal screens. To deliver ads and measure their performance, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may send information such as the following to Google:
- Device identifiers, such as the advertising identifier
- Approximate location estimated from your IP address
- Information about ads shown and your interactions with them, such as taps
- Diagnostic information about how the App runs (crashes, performance, and so on)
We do not give the contents of your entries or photos to Google for advertising. Google’s handling of information is governed by Google’s policies.
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
In the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the App asks for your consent through Google’s consent message (User Messaging Platform) before showing personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time in the App’s Settings under “Ad privacy settings”.
No ads are shown while you use COFFEE DAYS Premium.
5. Permission to track (App Tracking Transparency)
The App uses Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework to ask whether you allow tracking.
If you do not allow it, you can still use every feature of the App. The only difference is that the ads you see will not be personalized (not tailored to your interests). You can change this permission at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
6. Purchase information
Purchases and renewals of COFFEE DAYS Premium are handled through Apple’s App Store. We do not receive payment information such as credit card numbers.
7. Purposes of use
We use the information the App handles only for the following purposes:
- To provide the App’s features, such as entries, the quiz, and suggestions (processed on your device)
- To show ads (as described in sections 4 and 5 above)
- To reply to your inquiries
8. Use by children
The App is not primarily directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians are encouraged to also use the tracking setting described in section 5 above and the iPhone’s Screen Time features.
9. Information received through inquiries
We accept inquiries by email. We use the contents of your message and your email address to reply to you, and for no other purpose.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will announce it on this page. The revised policy takes effect when it is posted on this page.
